Why it’s special

Fourteen adjoining townhouses dating back to the 1730s; 162 differently shaped rooms.

Hitting the sack

Rooms have a Scandinavian feel, with crisp lines and neutral colours. Each is decorated with pale wood furniture, monochrome prints of modern London landmarks and modern art.

Sampling the fare

The Tiger Green Brasserie and Bar has oriental decor and pre-dinner nibbles served in bento boxes, but the food is a Brit-Med fusion: steaks, salads and puddings.

Access all areas

Two rooms equipped for disabled guests and two more that can be converted for their use.

What we think

Traditional on the outside, all mod cons once through the front doors. A great location.

Bottom line

If booking at least 21 days in advance, singles cost from £128 and doubles from £140 a night.
