The man, the films, those blondes. Free DVD collection starting this Sunday

Phew! I am tired and I really don't want to go and hit balls but I feel I have to. I will hit some mid-irons. There are a lot of mid-iron shots needed around here. It was hard work again today. I felt the short game was sharp and I felt great with the putter, which is exciting. It proves that yesterday wasn't a one-off. There has been a big turn-around in my form with the putter.
A 72 is all right but not what I was looking for. My goal today was to shoot par or better, having had a 74, four over par in the first round. I got a bit of momentum going with three birdies but I also dropped a few shots. I spent a lot of time in the dunes today. I got back to four over par after the 12th and I thought to myself "right, a couple more birdies and I can turn this into a good round." Unfortunately I had two more bogeys.
The weather was better today. I didn't have to empty the water out of the pockets of my rain gear as I did on Thursday. It was also nice not to have to mess around with putting a jacket on and off, or drying my hands all the time.
I am happy to see the forecast is for wind in the third round. I think if I can shoot par on a windy day I will give myself a half-decent chance. There are some good players on one over and two over but the nature of major championships is guys fall back. It is basically the last man standing. That is how Jack Nicklaus won so many. He said stick around, stick around, stick around.
Greg Norman's round today, and yesterday for that matter, were astonishing. He has the body of a 23-year-old and the mind of a 53-year-old. I used to be one of those annoying little kids behind the 18th green at Wentworth during the World Match Play shouting at players like Greg for a ball, a hat, glove or an autograph. I remember one year Greg went bowling past us and he seemed like a giant. He seemed like a gladiator. I don't think I ever did get a hat, or glove or ball from Greg. I always wanted balls because then you could use them. I did get a ball from Payne Stewart though and that was pretty cool.
I hear an amateur chipped in on the 18th, a chip very much like the one I did in 1998. Good for him. I also hear he did a pretty good imitation of my celebrations after. Excellent.
We had a nice dinner at home last night knowing I had a bit of a lie-in. We watched television, a series we have been watching called Prison Break. That was good. It left us hanging for a fourth series now.
I made a mistake in my preparation this morning. I worked on my short game and got waylaid. I didnlt have long enough on the range to be honest. I got too engrossed in my short game preparation and spent 15 or 20 minutes too long at the chipping and putting greens. I won't do that again.
