Max Mosley will be snubbed by the King of Jordan when he attempts his first public duty after lurid allegations about his role in a five-hour sadomasochistic orgy with five prostitutes.
Mr Mosley, the son of Sir Oswald Mosley, the British Fascist leader, defended his decision not to resign as president of the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) in a newspaper interview published yesterday. He was unapologetic and claimed that he had the overwhelming support of the motorsport industry.
The Times has learnt, however, that senior officials in Jordan, where Mr Mosley is planning to travel this week, have voiced concerns about his appearance in the country.
The Times has also established that after his public snubbing by the Crown Prince of Bahrain, who told Mr Mosley not to attend the Bahrain Grand Prix three weeks ago, King Abdullah of Jordan has decided that he will not receive him officially during the visit. Mr Mosley had decided to go to Jordan instead of attending the Spanish Grand Prix, where it was feared that a chance meeting with King Juan Carlos of Spain, a keen race-goer, might create an embarrassment.
In Jordan Mr Mosley will be the guest of King Abdullah’s brother, Prince Feisal, at the inaugural Jordanian stage of the World Rally Championship. According to an official press release issued by the rally, Mr Mosley has “delighted” organisers by accepting the invitation to attend.
However The Times has learnt that senior officials in Jordan would prefer it if the visit did not go ahead, given the widespread revulsion at Mr Mosley’s conduct, which has shocked Formula One and the boardrooms of the big car manufacturers.
The officials are said to feel indebted to Mr Mosley because of the key role he played in ensuring that Jordan was given the chance to stage the rally and feel that they have no choice but to entertain him.
One observer in Amman, the Jordanian capital, said: “They wish they could do away with him coming here, but they know they have to do it because they owe him a favour. But definitely Mosley is not going to see the King [in any public forum]. If he does see him, it will not be publicised.”
The Jordanian visit is part of a concerted attempt by Mr Mosley to rehabilitate himself and justify his decision not to stand down at least until June 3 when a full meeting of the FIA’s 222 voting members will convene in Paris at an estimated cost of more than £1 million to decide his future in a secret ballot.
In his interview with The Sunday Telegraph, Mr Mosley mounted a staunch defence of his behaviour. He was highly critical of a prostitute for speaking about his “eccentric” sexual habits to the News of the World. He also attacked as a “deliberate, cold-blooded, calculated lie” the allegation that the session included Nazi role-play. He said that a prostitute who spoke about his alleged request for a Nazi theme to the session was guilty of a “betrayal of trust”.
“I think she is beneath contempt because it’s not just what she did to me, she was friends with the other four [prostitutes] . . . and she completely betrayed that trust and to behave like that is extraordinary,” he told the paper. He added: “I see it as an awful intrusion into my private life which is not justifiable by any means and which I hope will be punished.”

Apparently "a few ex-drivers" had criticised him, but said none of Formula One's real "opinion formers" had said anything.
Just who are these "opinion formers"? and what of BMW, Mercedes, Honda et al, what are they? like fans I suppose. In Mr Mosley's book inconsequential.
Perhaps Mr Todt is an exalted "opinion former" and one of the few who has (just) come out in support of Mosley, now that's a unexpected surprise. Question is, has Mosley to remain in place to secure the succession?

How can anyone who is an ambassador for any organisation, sport, business or profession not go after this. How can this grubby little man now travel the world meeting royalties and dignitaries. As far as I am concerned the Nazi connection is not relevant at all, he was caught with his pants down with prostitutes and as a result must now suffer his punishment, yet again, he might even enjoy a little more pain. I also never forgave the man for saying that 100 million dollar fine imposed on McLaren
last year was a âtrivial amountâ, he has lost reality with the real world and has to go quick to help save a sport which is on the verge of self destruction.

The brass neck of the man, complaining about a prostitute's lack of scruples! Comedy gold Mr. Mosley, but I doubt you'll understand when I say the joke is on you. Really, he's beginning to remind me of Jonathan Aitkin now, his hubris knows no bounds.

Max Mosely has done nothing wrong. Whatever he gets up to in his private life is up to him and not for anybody else to comment on. Of course everybody who has criticised Max's actions has never done anything wrong, in fact they must all be saints. Keep up the good work Max!

I'm always cautious when people only show me little bits of an an obviously much longer video.
How much of this little escapade had a nazi theme? Who suggested and/or carried out the actions of the nazi theme: him or the woman who then sold the story for big money? Would she have got as much money if the hanky panky had been spanky but no nazi?

Five hours with five women, at the age of sixty seven ? Mosley can be my guest anytime.
haider, rayleigh,
Yep I think the knighthood is out the window ...probably halfway down the Mall already..F1 into disrepute..more like the Entire Brit Empire..whats left of it and the FIA and all of its members, its members members and not least its member's member's member's.
Perhaps in typical politician he'll drop in on the troops in Basra and head up to Baghdad to announce the Iraq F1 GP for 09 ..a street circuit from Bag Airport to the Green Zone perhaps .. a loop..
..or a re-enactment of Lawrence's train -blowing exploits followed by sheeps eyes, camel sweetbreads and sweet tea (not just a Brit tradition..) followed by a presentation of a replica of a Brough Superior in solid gold .
Tea...they say WW2 was won on tea. It kept them awake when exhausted. Tea and Woodbines.Bet tea sales went through the roof . Arise Sir Tea,CDM and Bar. Lord Tea at the Admiralty.Bomber Tea .God Bless 'em.
Making tea ,like quitting,so many don't know how to do it well;warm the pot on the kettle spout :)

The effrontary of this wretch, (Mosley), is bordering on the comical. Of course all this is the prostitutes fault, nothing at all to do with him. He hopes she will be punished. Well Mosley wake up and smell the coffee, I would estimate that in excess of 90% of all motorsport fans are sincerely hoping that you are the one to be punished. The sooner you are out of our sport the better!!!!!!!!!!

Mr Mosley's selfish desire shamelessly to cling onto his job completely ignores the obvious damage this attention on him is causing the image of F1. The President of the body charged with protecting the image of F1 cannot be, at best, a figure of ridicule and, at worst, a figure of revulsion. The fact that important people are shunning Mr Mosley and virtually no-one in F1 is expressing any public support for him speaks volumes. Mr Mosley should publish the letters he claims to have received from club Presidents so the FIA and public can see who they are and if the letters are truly over 7 to 1 in his favour as he claims. Mr Mosley is quoted as saying of the prostitutes, "..it's not as though they were sort of off the street and asked to do something unpleasant in return for money". So being dressed up as prisoners in a "facility" and beaten by a person pretending to be a German guard is not "something unpleasant in return for money". Mr Mosley fully reveals and wholly condemns himself.

Prostitution and a betrayal of trust ... hhmmm
I bet that's never happened before....
Heavens! ... what is the world coming to?

Funny how Mosley blames and condemns everyone for the scandal.
I agree with a previous comment that if one is caught with ones pants down one should except it and resign.
NO right minded person could except a pervert (read the definition of a pervert and one will see a pervert he is) as the head of the FIA or any other global organisation.
Mr Ecclestone, do the right thing, put on the record that he should go and go now after all you are supposed to be the power in F1 and if you do the right thing then many others in in F1 will speak on - on the record and I believe your standing within F1 would actually rise.
For the president of the FIA to bring the FIA into disrepute like this is disgraceful whatever the circumstances of the perversions of Mosley becomingly public - do the right thing - go - go now.
Dale, Wokingham, UK
I saw excerpts from the videos on the internet, and what struck me about the whole sad, silly and laughable performance was the ending, which was so British. The prostitutes and their punter, Mr. Mosley, stood around chatting over a nice cup of tea. Now he should follow another old British tradition for public figures caught with their pants down and quietly disappear into private life for a while.
