Cristiano Ronaldo last night cast a shadow over Manchester United's Champions League final preparations by flirting with Real Madrid and declaring that he will make a decision on his future after the showdown with Chelsea next Wednesday.
In an interview with a Madrid-based television station, Ronaldo, who picked up the Football Writers' Association Footballer of the Year award in London last night, made clear that he still harbours ambitions to play in Spain and, more alarmingly for United, suggested that he would resolve where to ply his trade after the match in Moscow.
United maintain that there is no decision for Ronaldo to make, given that he has four years remaining on a five-year contract worth £120,000 a week. David Gill, the chief executive, announced recently that Ronaldo is not for sale at any price and that it would make “no sense” to sell him, even for a world-record fee in excess of £50million. But Old Trafford officials were dismayed to learn of the 23-year-old's comments yesterday at a media open day that was held to preview the Champions League final.
In interviews with United's official media outlets, Ronaldo has contin-
ually stated his long-term commitment to the Barclays Premier League champions, but his comments to the Spanish media have been markedly different in tone.
While he said on several occasions yesterday that he was “happy” at Old Trafford, the overriding message was that he may be even happier in Spain - music to the ears of his persistent suitors in Madrid. Questioned about his future by Spanish television journalists, Ronaldo said: “I am happy here, but let's see what happens after the Champions League final. I am feeling calm here. I'm happy here, but in the future I don't know.”
Asked whether he specifically meant moving to Spain, the Portuguese replied: “I have said millions of times that I would love to play in Spain, but it's one thing to dream and another thing for it to be reality. I don't know the club [Real], but I know that they like my game. I know that other teams in Spain like me as well. It's good to know that they like my game, but I am happy here.”
The view in Madrid for much of this season - even from Ramón Calderón, their ebullient and highly ambitious president - has been that “Project Ronaldo” was on hold until at least 2009, but they appear to have been given some encouragement in recent weeks, perhaps by the player's agent, Jorge Mendes, or those close to him. It cannot have gone unnoticed in Madrid that recent gossip columns have linked Ronaldo heavily with Nereida Gallardo, a model based in Spain.
United have been mystified by the number of reports in recent months suggesting that Ronaldo is in talks over a new contract that would increase his wages to £150,000 a week. They have been so irked by them that last month they took the unusual step of issuing a statement to say that, having agreed that contract barely 12 months earlier, no such negotiations were taking place or even planned.
One source close to Ronaldo, though, maintains that the forward will pursue another new contract at the end of the season and that his future will be dictated by United's willingness or otherwise to accommodate his increased demands.
One player who has seemingly committed the remainder of his career to United is Rio Ferdinand, who signed a new five-year contract yesterday, having agreed terms on a deal, worth in excess of £100,000 a week, four weeks ago. Earlier in his career, the England defender had spoken of a desire to play in Italy and Spain, but his new contract in theory binds him to United until June 2013, by which time he will be almost 35, and strengthens his claim to be the club's next captain.
“Manchester United is a fantastic club and I am delighted I have signed a new contract,” Ferdinand, 29, said in a statement. “It is a great honour to be part of this trophy-winning team and to share in the success which I am sure will continue for many seasons to come.”

This is why Cristiano Ronaldo, (in favor of his career) should NOT move to Real Madrid.
Real Madrid is a team full of big-headed Superstars and always have been. It's bad chemistry to add more bigheadedness to the team. I mean seriously, how many cups or spanish titles have real won recently??
Ricardo, Fayetteville, NC, USA
Ronaldo,be verry carefull. The press will destroyou in Spain.
Injoy the ride,You got good thing going.Sir Alex is THE man who made you to be who you are today.
zarko PRTINA, pACIFIC PALISADES, USA
If he gets up in arms over wanting to leave, I would love for Alex to let him rot in the reserves until the January transfer window. Then boot him out into the January snow. Utd will be fine without him-as many goals as he scores his success does come at the expense of others, namely Rooney.
Claire, Dublin,
Ronaldo won't leave...
He HAS to say for another 4 years or so. After that though, who's to know. I don't even know what I'm doing for lunch tomorrow let alone 4 years from now...
This is just the media, tryiing to make a situation...(and it worked, good on ya) :)
John, Washington DC, USA
Ronaldo should not leave Utd. He should at least stay until Sir Alex retires. But it would be a shame to sell all Utd stars to Madrid. Its tiresome! Beckham,Nistelrooy,Heinze some of the great Utd player went to Madrid damn annoying. Hope that Ronnie doesnt join the list.
Tj, Dhaka, Bangladesh
ronaldo has got a mind set that ....manu cant win without him...
but its just a rubbish thing...if he wants to go let him go..dont give him an extra piece of care in the team...every one should be equal for a teams success
vishnu, cochin, INDIA
I must say that I am always amused when I hear United complaining about their players being unsettled or ouched up by other clubs. My mind goes back to Rooney, Saha and even David Bellion and those other legion of players who suddenly demand transfers after being aware of interest from Manchester.
David Townsend, Kabul, Afghanistan
i find this 'click our fingers and any player will come running to join Real Madrid' attitude quite tiresome.
Why go to a smaller, lower profile league like the Spanish one?.
These days Real Madrid are nothing but legends in their own minds.
Mac, Nottingham, UK
As a life long United fan, I am appalled that Ronaldo or his agent or both would create this situation on the eve of the Final. I have always had my doubts about his commitment to United. For me, his comments on almost any topic always seemed self-serving. United will survive without him. Ask Ruud!
Geoff, Woodbury,Connecticut, USA
Watch his interview in Sky website. He was quite annoyed by the interviewer asking him the same question several times despite saying he's happy at United. He said he doesn't know the future because even he can't guarantee United won't suddenly sell him for a really high price. He was simply honest.
Dew, London,
Ronaldo is already at a great club, playing very well, winning things and on his way to becoming a club legend. Why would he move to Real to become a merchandising tool? After watching the interview, I realise how much this has been blown out of proportion by the media. He was being hypothetical!
Dew, London,
It's no secret that 'someday' Ronaldo would like to play in Spain. It doesn't mean it will be anytime soon. He's at a great club, part of a great squad to win trophies regularly and become a legend. Real is not the European force they were before. Why would he want to move there? Because he won't.
Dew, London,
If CR's agent is urging him to give Real Madrid a signal 5 days
before the UCL final, he doesn't need a new team but new representation.
The only context that this sort of foolishness would satisfy me would be Fergie telling the boy to tease Real because MU are chasing a player that Real covets.
B.Lo, toronto, canada
why would ronnie wanna go to a team where if he has one bad season, he will be booed and labelled a failure? united play the open football which suits his game, and the we love him! spanish football is much slower and will stunt his footballing growth! u wont get it any better than ere ron!
Drew, Manchester,
I am one of the biggest admirers of Ronaldos' talent but if he starts talking this nonsense , leave him out of the final team and put him in the reserves for the start of next season. We might see the best out of Rooney that way , you remember , Rooney the english player , sideshow to Ronny .
Nick Dixon, Sutton Coldfield, England
There may indeed be little a club can do to ensure that a player stays at his club, regardless of a recently signed long-term contract. This prompts a question: Why make such contracts in the first place? If only the requirement that the club pays up matters, why bother with all the pointless text?
PEB, Manchester,
I think that all these reports are meant to distract United with the Champions league final a few days away. I really don't know why the media reads more in too what was actually said. Come on united fans read what Ronaldo "actually" said and not what the media "would" like him to say. CR7 the best!
Shameel, POS, Trinidad
If Ronaldo moves to Real it would be a massive mistake, Manchester United are back at their best and have a great chance of doing the double this year and winning lots more trophys in years to come. I think he will move in a few years if hes smart.
Mark, Manchester, England
I don't think Ronaldo should move to Real, he is known for his amazing performances in Manchester United - and leaving them to play for Real is a big mistake. I hope Ferguson does everything he can to keep him otherwise its a big mistake! I do hope he chooses to stay with Manchester United.
Sara, Belfast, Northern Ireland
Wonder what's the role of Nerieda Gallardo? Agent of Madrid? Let's not forget that what greatly influenced Zidane to join Real from Juventus was his spanish wife. The moans of Manchester's weather are the beginning...
Satish, Bangalore, India
It's a shame that players put money before loyalty these days as it normally becomes the downward spiral in their playing career in their pursuit of cash.
Players like Giggs, Bergkamp, Adams et al are the true heroes.
PJB, London,
How is it possible, that somebody can call ManU the biggest club in football? Is not event by far the best English team in European history. Just a decent side, good locally, irrelevant elsewhere else. Oh, well and strongly supported in SEA and Me, where they don't even know what football is.
Raul, Yarm, UK
How many United fans who have made their point here list their town as "London"!?!?!?
Emily, London,
To all the people who think Man Utd will not miss Ronaldo, get real. The guy has scored 40 odd goals for you this season and assisted probably more times than anyone in your team. Take that away from where you are now and you may have just handed Chelsea the title at the beginning of the season..
Alex Reinera de Costa, London, England
What's the fuss? He said three times in seven sentences in that "he's happy here"? Nothing new in these statements.
The only reason Fergie will sell is if Fergie wants to sell (his selling record is WAY better than his buying record with the notable exception of McGrath).
In Fergie we trust
Scott, Manchester,
real madrid is the most boring team on earth!! how many united players do they want?!!? first beckham, then van nistelrooy, then heinze... now ronaldo?! waht is wrong with them?! go look for some talented players elsewhere!
SAF shouldnt let ronaldo go for anything less than 100 million pounds!
David, London,
Did no-one else read the comments slightly differently to how they are being portrayed?
It seems like he's very happy in England - he said it enough. Just because "we'll see" was mentioned after the final does not mean he plans on moving. I negotiate my salary every 6-12 months, why can't he?
Dan E, London,
This has to be the end for Ronaldo at United. As with some previous 'stars' in the history of Man U, the current number seven now thinks he's bigger than Sir Alex and the club. Sir Alex should drop him for the final and cash in on him before he flops in the Euro's.
Paul, Doha,
Typical London media prior this big occasion - just a SAF predicted. This is all blown out of proportion; he'll stay for 2 more seasons at which point, with 2-3 years remaining on his contract, Utd will cash in and cherry pick the best best players from the World Cup. Mountain out of molehill.. GOSH
Dean, Manchester,
cristiano ronaldo or nt ,man united will still remain the geatest club on earth so if any body want him fine let him go,it will even brlng more money to d club.man united always hv good search for wingers[right]so he can go wen ever he feels like.kenny a united fan 4rm nigeria
kehinde, ibadan, nigeria
Nobody is bigger than the club. Beckham and Van Nistelroy and even Keane have been dispatched. Ferguson might not be a master tactician but he has the respect of everyone at the club. Would not put past him to put Ronaldo on the bench on Wednesdsay
Duncan Prior, London, UK
Premiership is not another thing than a full foreigner league. like says J. Graham, the statics don´t lie, England is out of the Eurocup... and Spain? We are the favourites my english friends.
martin, la coruna, Spain
J. Graham, Real Madrid = 9 Champions League, the statics don´t lie like you say, nothing else to say.
martin, la coruna, Spain
....all I got to say is if he shows this kind of disrespect to a club like United by making these comments while he still has 4 years on his contract, extort 100 mil from Madrid and sell him....there's always gonna be great undiscovered talent who are going to want to play for United...
Granit, Prishtina,
Why should Football be judged differently than any other job?
<br/>When a worker decide to change job why should he has to give an explanation? For whatever reason, personal or profesional?you have to respect that!!! i am sorry for my english. This is my perpective.thanks for your time .
Silviano Crespo, Montreal, Canada
Well,I am Chinese. As i know,Real is more famous in the world, and they can always attract best players,so will Ronaldo be the 4th player from MU to Real in recent years?Lets see what will happen in future.
Han, Dalian, China
would be sad to see ronaldo leave but man utd are bigger than he is which i dnt think he sees and def is a question of loyalty fergi made ronaldo the player he is and i dnt think he will be half the player WEN he leaves were used to players with loyalty at united if ronaldo none then he should go
mark, manchester, england
Fernando, nobody is saying RM is not a great club. But it is also the truth that United stars go there when they are past their best. We are not feeder club that we will just let our stars go when they are winning trophies for us. RM needs to accept that and move on. It's United who are the best NOW
Dew, London,
If this is Ronaldo's and Real's bluff to call - then United should call them both on it - no one player no one is ever bigger than the club especially United. If United get 100 million quid as Real likes to boast they can pay then pay it and then United can re-tool an even better squad than we have.
Jody , Toronto, Canada
Four words: Feeder club for Real.
Mick, Cork, Ireland
Ronaldo should go. He's a showpony with little character. He's not interested in being a team member. Utd have always been much more than one player. Still not forgiven him for the world cup fiasco; again it's a question of loyalty?
Missing Ole.
Julie, Chapel, UK
I´ve seen lots of ignorance in the above comments. Is the best club of the century a retirement club? In the past decade RM won 3 champions league( 9 in total, the no1). And United? 1 and we all remember how that happened. Anyway, if Cristiano wants to play in our side, who can stopped his wishes?
Fernando, Burriana, Spain
Absolutely, sell him. Replace him with three from Seville -- Diego Capel, Alves & Fabiano. He becomes more ineffectual against superior opposition, not what United need.
Mike M., boston,
G. Brown claims that La liga is a superior League to to the Premiership.
In the past two years, there have been six Premiership clubs in the semi-finals of the Champions League compared to one La Liga club. I'm afraid the stastics don't lie.
J. Graham, Leeds, UK
Why would anyone want to leave Man Utd and the premier league to play in an inferior league for an Inferior club? Real Madrid are a retirement club where you go for a big payday before you quit and an easy ride in a shoddy league. Where does this myth come from that Real are a big club?
J Roberts, Manchester, UK
manchester united is the best club in europe and better yet the world, cristiano ronaldo would be stupid to leave them
john damasco, naples,
Great on that all English CL final, being the third country to do so. With regard to the comments on Madrid, must be a miracle that a group of over the hill players have been able to win more European cups in the past 10 years than Manchester and Chelsea combined in all their history.
DS, London,
yeah la liga technically is better you are buying into the hype created by the media into EPL being the best in the world. The most exciting it is the best I am afraid not. Same as Ronaldo being the greatest player on the planet he is not even the best player in Uniteds team
John, Waterford, Ireland
If he wants to go, let him go. It appears, money is more important than loyalty. It is more important for United to "cultivate its own plants. I shall be sorry to see him going, though. Somebody also has to tell him to concentrate on the final with Chelsea. Put the club first, then the individuals.
Stelios Menis, Warren, Ohio, USA
Ronaldo seems to disappear when the big games come up anyway and it's the older lot (Scholes, Giggs, Ferdinand) who are the big game players. I'm sure the Glazers will make the decision to sell, not Fergie. United have had better players than Ronaldo in the past so cash in now.
Paul, West Midlands,
Personally I'd pay him to go.
I dislike his "gamesmanship" which for me far overshadows his footballing skills. It is a shame that most seem to overlook this, but I guess that's the world of football and men - duplicitous and hypocritical.
Michael, London,
Real Madrid is a footballers retirement league. Owen, Ruud Van, Beckham, Henry, Owen have all faded into a fraction of their former selves. It's career suicide and extremely inconsistent manager wise and frankly if he wants to go let him. At least Man U will have the money and no competition.
Simon, Luton,
Ronaldo will be looked upon alongside the greats when he's finished playing - he's a genius. Anyone who thinks man u will be better without him is delusional.
That said, I'm absolutely delighted that he's upset the apple cart, it couldn't happen to a more horrible club.
Chris, Derby,
Mad money is getting to his head. If he really wants to leave, let him be. Thanks for his work with Utd and we will bounce back with diferent talents. look at Milan with Kaka', they got the best player and where did they end up, at the hands of Arsenal, a team not an individual (although he helps).
Farés, Paris, France
If this is true, then as far as I am concerned it is poetic justice after the way United treated David beckham
Rita Cocking, Plymouth, england
Volkan, you are right.. without 31 goals this season sure man u would have been the same....
T, London, England
United should remember that their owners are American and if they can make a quick buck 50 million plus then that is what they will do. I still think he is highly overrated but had a good season. Unfair of him to talk about his future before final, will unsettle.
Adrian Jacobs, Johannesburg, South Africa
Ha, don't like it when it's your player being unsettled by the media do you united fans. See what the rest of us have to constantly put up with.
Our league best in the world? Ronnie, Drogba, Carvalho, Berba et al seemingly heading for warmer climes (or better contracts) would suggest otherwise.
Jeremy, Farnham,
Lets not forget this is only the first season where he actually played well and against world class opposition he has gone missing. I really believe that United will be stronger with or without him.
Volkan, London,
£70m please Madrid. Then we can get Karim Benzema. No-one would even notice he was gone. Legends are not made in 4 seasons Cristiano. Real M are a government funded, shirt selling prioritised shambles. Man U develop talent. Remember Heinze, no, neither does anyone else.
Nick Matthew, london, uk
Real Madrid is the retirement home for United players. If Ronaldo is half as smart as I think he is, he will realise his potential by staying at United for many years to come and becoming all that he can be before finally deciding to fulfill his dream of playing in Spain in 3-4 years.
Dew, London,
Should he want to leave the EPL then he will and if anything at all there's v little his present club can do - throwing money at him may keep him there for another season, no more. Influence from Sir Alex may do more... This is the risky business that Man Utd (& all other clubs) are in - accept it!!
JM, London, UK
I think it is a bit selfish to put his personal agenda ahead of the team at this time. When he plays the final will it be for United or to showcase himself. SAF has no choice but to play him in the final but after he should have a word with him and if need be sell to the highest bidder not just RM
Sam, Madrid, Spain
United have never been a one man team , we always develop another superplayer. When you develop talent you have to expect other teams to be after you're players , I take that as a compliment , if Manchester United are turning out to be Real Madrid's feeder team so be it , we can make a fortune.
Ed Allen, Whitby, Canada
Ronaldo all to calm down his temperament at least for the next contract season. Bravo to madrid!!
chinedu, Nigeria.
chinedu, Onitsha, Nigeria
Good , let him go .. Manutd have won titles before him and will win long after he is gone.I wonder if Raul will give up his number 7 shirt for this fickle genius.
Ravi, Düsseldorf, Germany
yeah it's without the slightest doubt that la liga is a superior league than the EPL! they had 1 team in the last 4 of the champions league....compared to 3 from EPL (same 3 teams in 2 consecutive years)!but that's not a big deal....
Jess, London,
Ronaldo has a simple choice to make- He can either go on to win titles and become a Man Utd legend or he can join Madrid and drift into obscurity as another galactico. For me he does not yet deserve to be mentioned in the same breath as Sir Bobby Charlton and George Best, he still has much to prove
Stephen Manick, Trinidad,
ronaldo over rated over hyped and over here, the banks will make united take this silly money medrid have offered to reduce its very very large debt
seamus , dublin, ireland
Has anyone ever noticed that Ronaldo NEVER plays any good in the big matches. He was useless against Barcelona,Chelsea,Arsenal etc..I'd say let him go for a crazy price 70-80 million?United ,and Ferguson made him 'the best in the world'if he cannot acknowledge that ,to hell with him
Gerald Mcauley, Cork, Ireland
Let him go. Spain will expose his limitations as it did with Henry. Man U have had players as talented as Rooney running about with the sole intention of giving Ronaldo space. A fine player, sure, but he's not Cruyff for heaven's sake.
matt Radford, Cirencester, uk
Ronaldo is a bit young to go to Real Madrid. I thought you had to be nearing 30 and past your best to get in the Galacticos team. Real Madrid did well in the Champions league this year and must be due another Manager change.
John, Manchester,
yeah the "la liga" is without a doubt superior than the EPL!they had 1 team in the semi final of the ECC,this is great compared to 3 teams from EPL!and if my memory is still gud,it was not real, but barcelona who were in the semi!but we must understand ronaldo, hes only playin 4 the champions of EPL!
Jess, London,
Oh dear...there goes the Champions League final.Chelsea must be laughing at this.
John Pownall, Bridport,
What a time to say this. Utd should sell him for as much as they can get. Next season he won't have anything like the impact he has had this year. I'd put him on the bench on wednesday..
Mike, Singapore, Singapore
Ronaldo has been fantastic for Man Utd in his 5 years here. The player has enjoyed success with two league titles an FA Cup and the final of the CL next week. If he feels he will be happier in Spain then what can we do ? I say we ask Madrid for £70million for him. Lets see how determined they are
andy, manchester,
I agree with the comments here.I am bored of this whole thing! If he wants to go, let him go. Players who do this kind of thing get shown the door. No player is bigger than the club. Also, It is his teamates that have helped him too. Madrid do not have nearly same depth/quality as United.
Nick, Manchester,
I'm sure it was said the Utd would never be the same when God (Cantona) left, and keane left and schmeichel left. Get over it guys. NO ONE is bigger than Utd. Not even Sir Alex. Let him go for £50m, there will be another.
Joe ONeil, glasgow, scotland
As a Real Madrid fan, I hope that Ronaldo stays in England. If he comes, he'll stay three or four years, start moaning about how unloved he is, and leave for greener pastures. Now that we got rid of the Figos, Beckhams and similar prima donnas, we don't need anouther $$$-loving player in the team.
Lucho, Madrid, Spain
If this is really what he said, fine, we should take the money. Oh, and he be dropped from the final team, so that he can watch at home on his TV like his future team mates at the glorious Real Madrid.
Martin , Sutton Coldfield,
If Utd win the Champions League then it's all the more likely he'll want to leave, there's not much more to achieve? For a player of his age & ability surely he'll relish the challenge of another league.
craig, London, England
I'm a little hurt that Ronaldo is even talking about considering his future before such an important game. I don't know why he would do that. He's young and has so much to achieve. He's already playing for a great club where he can become a legend. I think he will make a huge mistake by moving.
Dew, London,
Why would anyone want to go to Spain - apart form the weather? Real are a great club historically, but you don't win historical medals in football. What counts is 'now' and right now Man Utd is the best club in Europe. Which is where Ronaldo should be.
Real Madrid is for retirement - ie mid 30s.
William Tapley, London, UK
I agree with earlier posters - if he goes, fine, we'll survive. Remember when Ruud went and everyone said United were doomed? That proved accurate, didn't it.........................the club is bigger than individuals, as has been shown time and again.
Pam Nash, Thornton-Cleveleys, UK
ronaldo should be concentrating on getting his form right for the final. nothing else. why is he even allowed to take or answer questions like this?
obviously the state of his contract and his public utterances have no bearing on whether he stays or goes.
jem, london, uk
How many players leave united and go on to play well? He needs them far more than they need him.
Alex, London,
Very attractive idea for Ronaldo. Play in an inferior league and win it every year without any effort. Get eliminated each year in the last 16 of the Champions League and get a penalty every time he dives thanks to Spanish ref's knowing who they must favour.
Peter, Madrid,
S K Lin - So Gerrard has "no character" for showing loyalty to his home team? Is character defined by turning your back on your friends and family in pursuit of money? Real football fans like to see players who are as passionate about the success of the club as they are.
Michael, London,
Doesn't a five year contract mean that hes got to stay and complete them?
Dodge, Manchester, UK
Man U won't be the same team if he goes - 40 goals this season.
Why isn't Fergie blaming Avram Grant for this rumour?
C'mon the Blues.
Scott, London,
If there's one thing we've learned about Man Utd, it's that you don't mess with Ferguson, no matter how talented or successful you might be. Ronaldo might find that he's wished too hard, and frankly, bigger and better men have been shown the door by Ferguson for less objectionable behaviour.
Tom, Galway, Ireland
sorry call me old fashioned but if you've signed a five year contract does that not mean you have to stay for five years?
Ozzie, Maidstone, Kent
Well,if he wants to chase bigger bucks instead of a ball, then then let him.He should remember how Beckham and Henry. have faded in Spain. At United,Ronaldo has been made to concentrate upon his football to reach his potential.Once he becomes a "galacticos",superstardom can ruin his future.
philip, coimabtore, india
Sick of reading this every year. If he wants to go - fine. If he stays - fine. United are bigger than any one player, and will be thriving long after Ronaldo packs up his boots.
John, Manchester, UK
couldnt agree more with saravanan. no one shud be bigger than the club! if Ronaldo wants to go, and if his heart is in Madrid, then so be it. i am sure Sir Alex can find a replacement. the replacement may not be as gud as ronaldo, but lets remember, United is not a 1 man team. lets not be bullied!
Jeash, Bangalore,
He's going...No question!
To a superior league where he doesn't get kicked. Next time he plays Barca he won't have to play defence over 60% of the time!
He's happy, Madrid are happy, and the Glazers are very $$$ happy, and so is the bank who own them.
Everyone except Utd fans....Shame...
G.Brown, London,
Ronaldo would be phenomenal in Spain; the footballer should listen to his heart. He is rich beyond imagination, conquered England, EPL - it makes a lot of sense (and Euros) to move to Spain, which will pose a new challenge. (Don't be like S Gerrard - no character!)
S K Lin, Hong Kong, China
No one is bigger than the club. There is a limit to the persuasion of making Ronaldo stay. If he still insists on leaving, then he should be sold to the highest bidder.
Saravanan, Puncak Alam, Malaysia
Ronaldo is not a local manchester lad, he has no real ties to manchester other than the football. If he devides he wants to spread his wings at least the glazer debt can be paid down a bit and one things for sure, Man Utd will attract more great talent so as a united fan i dont worry about it.
jon jones, Manchester , UK
Ronaldo shold stay at United as he enjoys first team football with the champions. Why go to Madrid and be on the bench?
Allen, Kuching, Malaysia
Rio should not go anywhere. At 29 he should be the main wall for MU.\ defence.
Allen, Kuching, Malaysia
