Real Madrid will step up their efforts to sign Cristiano Ronaldo and hold on to Robinho after Wesley Sneijder appeared to be seriously injured against Arsenal yesterday. The Holland playmaker left the pitch on a stretcher after a clumsy challenge by Abou Diaby in the 59th minute and Bernd Schuster, the Real coach, is worried that Sneijder could be sidelined for six months if he has snapped a cruciate knee ligament.
“It was the last thing we wanted,” Schuster said. “It wasn’t really a friendly – intense, a typical English game and it is not looking good for Wesley.”
Real hope that Ronaldo will tell Manchester United that he wants to leave the English champions when the Portugal forward returns to England tomorrow, but denied that Robinho, the Brazil forward, has told them that he wants to move to Chelsea.

That's not true,Nick.
Fergie fined Scholes 2 weeks wages and would've given him a rollocking after he refused to play against Arsenal in the League Cup.
I would be amazed if Cantona never got the hairdryer treatment.
Fergus Sira-Lexon, England,
There is only one Manu player who hasn't had the hairdryer treatment and that isn't Paul Scholes, but Eric Cantona:)

How could they step it up any more? They've been trying their best to get him for the last 2 years!
Ronaldo asking for a move won't change United's stance, they knew he wanted to go when they said he's not for sale at any price.
It's time the press accepted the fact that he's staying at OT.
Fergus Sira-Lexon, England,
Can someone please tell me if I missed Wenger and Diaby apologizing for Diaby's tackle on Sneijder?
I really think they should apologize. Maybe Wenger should rethink his words about banning players who injure others until the injured player reappears. I doubt he'll leave Diaby out for six months...

If Ronaldo wants to go let him. Sir Alex is the reason behind Cristiano's spoilt behaviour, he treats him better than other players. I don't think SAF ever scoled Criatiano, he has spoilt him and is paying for it today.
