Can you please find me any cruises that start and, (importantly), return to Leith, Scotland? John & Mary Luckie, Dornoch
A response from the Passenger Shipping Association: Leith (Port of Edinburgh) is increasingly becoming an important Scottish cruise port.
While several cruise lines visit Leith/Edinburgh as part of their itineraries, Fred Olsen Cruise Lines, Travelscope and Classic International Cruises frequently feature cruises that start and end in/around Edinburgh.
To find these itineraries, visit www.discover-cruises.co.uk and click on the "cruise finder" button.
Here are a couple of examples: Fred Olsen runs Northern European and Arctic itineraries from Leith, including Boudicca - a Baltic 12-night itinerary, departing 22 June 2008. It visits Norway, Denmark, Estonia, Russia and Sweden before returning to Edinburgh. Prices start from £1232 pp
Alternatively, there's one from Rosyth, which 13 miles northwest of Leith, also on the Firth of Forth, with Travelscope on the MS Van Gogh. It's the North Cape & Land of the Midnight Sun Cruise, and it departs 17 July 2008 for 11 nights, visiting Alesund, Tromso, Lofoten Islands and Bergen before returning to Edinburgh, from £799 pp.
