I recall an item in the “Your Hols” column of some time ago on car hire. It was a follow up piece to the perils of car hire abroad and the insurance “extras”. If I am right you gave details of a company that offered cover for these extras – underbody damage, CDW, etc. either on an annual or per trip basis. Murphy’ Law applies – my filing system refuses to give up the data now that I need it. Do you recall the item? Barry Crowley, by email
Ginny McGrath, Times Online Travel News Editor responds: The company you are looking for is www.insurance4carhire.com. And the article you mention is by Mark Hodson. He gives some useful tips on booking car rental, including how to avoid overcharging and scams to look out for. You can read it here.
