The photography of Etienne Dehau is showcased in a new hardback book about the Bedouin tribes and nomadic peoples of Arabia.
Bedouin and Nomads: Peoples of the Arabian Desert covers the deserts and their inhabitants from Jordan to Yemen: Wadi Rum, the Nefud, Ad-Dahna and Rub al Khali – known as the Empty Quarter – which borders Yemen and extends to Oman.
Over the course of 168 stunning images, the essence of the vast area is revealed, from prehistoric cave paintings to modern day dwellings and everyday life, along with an array of desert landscapes.
Accompanying the book's photography are words by Pierre Bonte, a social anthropologist who has spent thirty years studying nomadic societies.
