We've made some changes
to The Sunday Times
Jolyon Joseph has taken a year to refurbish his Georgian townhouse. He is still not happy and refinements are ongoing but it is finished for visitors. Rooms are a mix of the antique and the very modern - ancient armoires, Philippe Starck bathrooms and extra large fluffy towels. Breakfast is served in the basement (leather sofas, simple seasonal food) which in the evening doubles as a very cosy bar called Cwtch, which is Welsh for "cuddle".
Cardiff Bay, with all its beery cheer and restaurants, is minutes away while culture is on offer at the newly opened Millennium Arts Centre directly opposite.
Details: 02920 488775, www.jolyons.co.uk B&B doubles from £85, one single, £75.
