To Clive in Caracas,
All you have to do is look at Giles' photo and you'll see that he can't grow a proper beard, so isn't old enough to appreciate a decent whisky.
Bill Peter, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Dude. Water?
Alex Smith, Paris, France
Clive and Ralph, clearly you're not regular readers of Mr Coren. The water rating was introduced to indicate whether or not a restaurant offered tap water before expensive bottled water and therefore the opposite of pretentious and esoteric.
N, London,
If you had any idea of Giles' column and understood why the water rating was there, you would realise your comments are totally unnecessary.
He is ensuring tap water is served at restaurants, hence a 10 rating and where only expensive bottled spring water is served, he gives a lower grade (e.g. petite maison).
JCS, Cheltenham, UK
Water rating?? Pretentious - moi??
Ralph, Singapore,
Splendid. But absurd - do you really go to a restaurant to rate the WATER??? Totally passé, ridiculously esoteric.
Why not rate the single malt whisky, Mr Coren?
Clive Britcher, Caracas,
