The newly refurbished Presidential Suite has two private lifts with direct access to an underground car park, meaning publicity-shy guests can arrive and leave in privacy. The suite has been dedigned to withstand outside attack. The walls, windows and main entrance door of the 240 square metre suite are bullet-proof, sure to put the minds of the most nervy guests at ease.
Guests can also be sure that they will not be cut off from the outside world in the event that gthey do become a target. The suite’s telecommunications system is independent of the rest of the hotel and uses secure DECT handsets. There is also a dedicated security hub with video monitoring and an self-contained power supply.
The suite, which cost 4 million euro (£2.8 million) to refurbish, is adjoined by two other suites, a smaller hotel room and a lounge for chauffeurs and bodyguards.
The hotel’s general manager, Thomas Klippstein, says, “The need for security and the expectations regarding equipment levels have grown tangibly, and we are meeting that challenge.”
